His work on Stanley Clarke's first solo album is very similar to his work with Chick Corea & still available. Also like Peter Green, Bill Connors is VERY underrated & forgotten about. When the subject of fusion guitarists of the '70s come up the names always mentioned are John McLaughlin, Al DiMeola, Larry Coryell, & Larry Carlton.5/5(4).

Format: Vinyl Record LP, Pathfinder Records. USA release from Jazz music LP release from Bill Connors. 6 tracks. I have several of Bill Connors albums and I would have to say that this one is my favorite with Step it and Assembler right behind. If you love instrumental jazz/fusion, you are going to love Bill Connors/5(16).

Dec 13,  · Bill's playing with RTF was a revelation to me, and that period is still my favorite. He had a totally unique style and a fantastic sound. I had the opportunity to hear RTF twice live before Hymn of the Seventh Galaxy came out, and as good as the record is, it was a let down after seeing them live.

Bill is so versatile. His acoustic albums are beautiful and highly recommended. However, his fusion work is just phenomenal. He can really bring it. DiMeola is great but I prefer Bill and it isn't even close. Assembler and Step It are both superb as well. Return To Forever's Hymn of the Seventh Galaxy and Stanley Clarke's eponymous solo album /5(14).
