   Frankly, I wasn't aware that Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley were especially “respected”. Most people I know see them both as marginally talented, if perhaps business-savvy, guys for whom greed trumped artistic credibility. That said, Ace Frehley is.

   Ace Frehley’s was a surprisingly solid LP. Peter Criss’ was astronomical horrible. And Paul Stanley’s showcased some fine power-pop but lacked the energy of his work with Kiss. But Gene’s was the most disappointing. There are a few good moments here but the disco arrangement of LA circa is too .
